Corvus Demand Management is the ‘flip side’ of Nominal Management, giving you a powerful real-time view of officer deployments vs. incidents. Corvus Demand Management helps you understand which resource tactics are most effective in managing incidents across various areas, both in the present moment, and analytically. Corvus Demand Management uses a visual ‘cold map’, tracking officer presence, comparing with the locations of incidents and all other geographic data held in the Corvus Operational Datastore. Corvus Demand Management helps you deploy resources efficiently, so you can respond to incidents effectively.
Overview
Corvus Demand Management was developed in collaboration with a metropolitan force to gain a deeper understanding of resource deployment, by assessing potential risks associated with the significant rise in anti-social behaviour typically observed at the end of October and into early November. The resulting application has proven to be highly versatile serving not only as a valuable tool for major operations, but also as an effective daily management utility at the local level.
Corvus Demand Management integrates directly with your Command and Control system, ingesting the locations of both incidents and deployable resources. It then plots these geographically and uses the data as a baseline to deliver key insights: identifying incident hotspots, highlighting cold spots where resources cannot reach within a configurable timeframe, replaying recent activity, and generating predictive scenarios for the coming hours based on historical and expected trends.
Incident and Resource Data
Incidents can be displayed and manipulated in multiple ways to create various views of the landscape. They can be filtered by response grading, codes and more… providing a clear picture of current activity regardless of requirements. Incidents can be shown individually, grouped into clusters, or visualized as a heatmap – highlighting hotspots across the selected area.
Resources can be filtered by type and grouped to meet specific operational needs. For example, custom groups can be created for an operation, populated with callsigns or officer ID numbers. Groups can then be monitored independently, with other resources hidden. Groups may be designated as public or private, depending on the creator’s requirements. Perhaps most importantly, resources can be visualized to show coverage areas or as ‘cold spots’ for regions without resource coverage. This helps identify potential risks so they can be understood and mitigated.

Historical Playback
The Corvus Demand Management application can operate in historical playback mode to provide valuable insights. It can replay activity following an event for review, debrief, and learning, and it can display historical patterns of activity for comparison. For example, compare the same annual event or the same date across two years.
Predictive Mode
The Corvus Demand Management application can also generate predictive insights, estimating likely incident patterns over the coming hours, by using historical data from similar events or timeframes as a reference. This helps anticipate demand, identifying where resources may need to be reallocated during operations.
Local application
The Corvus Demand Management application can also be utilised at a local or even neighbourhood level, enabling command teams to fully understand where staff are currently located and where they have been in relation to the existing workload.
