More Than A Data Warehouse

The Corvus Operational Data Store goes beyond standard Data Lake or Data Warehouse functions to give you near real-time operational capabilities on top of your RMS as standard.

  • Produce reports and dashboards sourcing disparate data, either in the Corvus application itself, or by using an external reporting tool like Microsoft Power BI to query the Corvus API.
  • Quickly lookup people, vehicles, locations or events – whether they exist in your RMS or another system. See Corvus – Single Enterprise View for more details.
  • Drill into the detail of all your systems’ records in a single application with blistering speed.

Corvus does the hard work of extracting, transforming and consolidating all your data. The data collection engine allows multiple data sets from different sources to be merged into one superset, providing a single search function across all of the data. Configurable refresh rates give you control on latency and help to limit back-pressure on existing systems. And our matured data processing algorithms handle oddities like time discrepancies, unresolved references and varying data formats. The result is the Corvus Operational Data Store – a unified data source that serves strategic analysis and tactical decision making equally well.

Great Data Drives Great Apps

Unified data is often more valuable than the sum of its parts. This puts our applications in a position to perform intelligence functions that are simply not possible in the source systems. For example knowing a person is involved with small amounts of violent crime is suddenly much more serious when you discover they have access to firearms too. On top of this, providing a single application to your front line users that can search everything, reduces training costs and stress for users. Examples:

Feeding Cloud Capabilities – Fabric, Power BI…

Microsoft’s Power BI, Fabric and Azure offerings are becoming increasingly popular for Police Force analytics teams. The Corvus Operational Data Store can be used as an aggregator of data that feeds into a database running on Azure cloud based infrastructure, thereafter opening up all the possibilities of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI running in Microsoft Azure. By taking on the technical job of integrating with your existing systems and combining data into a single unified view, Corvus provides your analytics team with a high quality data set to work with. Corvus itself is platform agnostic. Contact us to discuss your reports and analytics requirements.

Corvus Single Enterprise View (SEV)

Corvus Single Enterprise View (SEV) brings all your data together, from RMS, C&C, HR systems, specialist systems and more, giving you super fast search, reports and integrated mapping – with full details from the originating systems for Person, Vehicle, Location or Event records. Unified records in Corvus are governed with ‘matching rules’ that you control. The result is a combined dataset equivalent to all your integrated systems in a single database, approximating ‘Gold’ in the medallion data architecture standard. You can read more about Single Enterprise View here.
