The UK Victims’ Code of Practice mandates that the victims of crime are given support and offered prompt information about their case as investigations progress. Importantly, police forces are monitored on their performance in this regard by HMICFRS. See our Victim Care solution for an alternative to potentially expensive wholesale outsourcing, but for investigation teams we offer VCOPS, the Victim Code Of Practice System.

VCOPS gives you automated compliance with Victim Code of Practice legislation, with a data-driven workflow that ensures victims are contacted by investigating officers. All changes to RMS crime reports and related information are tracked as they occur, monitoring the case status and the deadline for communication to the victim. Investigating officers receive alerts warning of due dates, and supervisors are notified if the dates are missed. VCOPS also gives supervisors a view of all active investigations, to help monitor individual and team performance.

Although VCOPS is designed to integrate with your RMS, it is based on the Corvus platform and therefore is independent of the Crime/RMS system in use.
