It is mandatory for the Probation Service (HMPPS) to make an enquiry against the existence of any domestic incidents occurring at the release address for every release. UK Police and Probation services are expected to collaborate*. For Police Forces, the administrative workload in this area has increased dramatically, with manual processes becoming unsustainable for Police or Probation services. A solution is needed.
*The NPCC data sharing agreement between UK Police and Probation Services aims to assist in crime prevention, detection and investigation while ensuring GDPR and other data protection legislation is adhered to.
Our ground breaking solution leads the way with data-sharing between your Force and the Probation Service (HMPPS) aligned to the NPCC data sharing agreement. Relevant details of domestic events are shared to the Probation Service as a fully monitored process for the duration of the managed period, including in response to pre-sentence requests. The Probation Service (HMPPS) are issued with either a confirmation that there are no relevant incidents, or a full baseline pack covering all events. The person on probation is continually monitored throughout the period, and updates are provided should any further events occur. The result is a 99% reduction in manual processes for both Police and Probation services.
The Probation Service now shares all electronically monitored nominals which are clearly marked in Corvus SEV search and details screens for all officers to see, for the duration of the monitored period. The probation marker is automatically removed at the end of the probation period.

Case Study – Merseyside Police & Probation Service
“The system provides a comprehensive baseline of events that have occurred within Merseyside, an overview of previous incidents, including volume, frequency of calls, arrests, victim details, location and whether the incident was recorded as a crime. Individuals are monitored until their sentence expiry date, with automated trigger alerts and Vulnerable Person Referral Forms sent directly to Probation staff – eliminating the need for manual follow-up checks.
This innovation has removed delays and backlogs, providing automatic notification of new incidents. The system has revolutionised probation practitioners’ ability to access timely safeguarding information. It empowers informed , proactive risk management and strengthens our collective commitment to public safety and the protection of identified victims.”
