Making the most of the first rays of sun this year, three members of our team volunteered to join their colleagues from Jonas Software at a tree planting event organised by Carbon Footprint. Together they planted two hundred young native trees at a farm just outside of Brighton, creating a natural hedge that will last for years to come. But it’s not just the farmers who will be benefiting for this work. These trees will provide habitats for local wildlife and support biodiversity in the area, they will improve the local air quality and preserve the surrounding soil, and they will help sequester future carbon emissions.

It may be a little bit outside of our normal line of work, but looking after our planet is something we should all be trying to find more time for in our lives. It might not always be digging holes and laughing in the shining sun but there are lots of little ways we can all do our part. A big thank you to Nitik and Alex for organising this event, you’ll likely see a couple more of us at the next one!
